PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize and lightening a fastening mechanism such as end plates and a fastening rod and thereby miniaturize a cell by providing the end plates to hold both end faces of a layer-built cell, joining members to join them an auxiliary plate having dish-shaped springs to impart joining force to the joining members and the end plates, and another auxiliary plate having bolts. SOLUTION: End plates 31, 32 are arranged on the upper and lower faces of a layered product 30 of a solid polymer type fuel cell, and the unit layered product 30 having output terminals is electrically insulated from the end plates 31, 32 by an insulating means. The end plate 31, the layered product 30 and the end plate 32 are joined together at four points, and the layered product 30 and the end plates 31, 32 are further joined together by a band 39 formed of a belt-like band to surround them, an auxiliary plate 33 to which the ends of the band are fixed, an auxiliary plate 34 having dish-like springs 38 mounted to its projecting parts 37 formed corresponding to recessed parts 36 formed in the bottom surface of the end plate 32, and bolts 35 installed in the auxiliary plate 33. |
