PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the volume of a heat exchanger, by setting the installation number of baffles in the direction along gas flow in a range where the degree of increase of pressure loss which is caused by installation of the baffles does not exceed the degree of increase of heat transfer quantity which is caused by installation of the baffles. SOLUTION: When an interval between adjacent fin bases 5 is made HF (m), the length of fins 1 is one row in the direction of air flow is made Lp (m) and the number of baffles 3 in one row in the direction of air flow is made N, formulas heff = 0.056/HF×1+N(5100×Hf2/Lp)} and Ntu = 0.000415(Lp×heff)/Hf are obtained. The installation number N of the baffles 3 is so set in a range where the degreeΔP* of increase of pressure lossΔP does hot exceed the degree Q* of increase of heat transfer quantity Q thatΔ*<=Q* is obtained, in the case that Ntu is made NtuO for N=0, and formulasΔP*=N(1700×Hf2/Lp) and Q*= 1-exp(-Ntu)}/ 1-exp(-NtuO)}-1 are obtained. |
