PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the dripping of expanded water from a tap-controlled electric water heater through a water discharging unit. SOLUTION: The absorbing device of expanded water is constituted by providing an expanded water tank 28, introducing the expanded water from an electric water heater 10 and absorbing the same, on a flow passage between a solenoid valve 20, stopping the supply of water into the electric water heater 10, and a water discharging unit 14, discharging hot-water from the electric water heater 10, in a condition that the tank 28 is communicated with the flow passage so that at least the bottom part of the tank is installed at a position lower than the water discharging unit 14. An aspirator 34 for sucking out water in the expanded water tank 28 by the flow of water in the flow passage into the flow passage is provided at the connecting part of the expanded water tank 28 to the flow passage.
