PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit the reproduction, etc., of a small-sized disk housed in a disk cartridge by a drive device for a large-sized disk cartridge through an adapter and also to unnecessitate the direct touch to the disk with hand. SOLUTION: The disk cartridge is provided with main bodies 1110a, 1110b of a case furnished with a disk housing part and an opening/closing cover 1120 furnished with a pair of disk holding members 202 for clamping the disk 10 in the direction of the surface inside. A grip part 1501 of the opening/closing cover is fitted to a grip guide part 1113 of the case main body. Since these parts are formed asymmetrical against a center line in the inserting direction of the opening/closing cover 1120, the opening/closing cover 1120 is prevented from being mounted with the upside down to the case main bodies 1110a, 1110b.
