PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid insufficient charging condition, even when charging is performed in a condition near full-charging condition by continuing the charging with a current lower than the charging current when the voltage reaches the predetermined value and then completing the charging, when the detected voltage value reaches again the predetermined voltage value. SOLUTION: Information on a voltage detecting means 13 is input to a controller 8, and a timer 15 determines whether or not the terminal voltage of both batteries 7A, 7A during the charging operation with reach the predetermined voltage value, corresponding to the full-charging condition within a predetermined time. Next, the voltage reaches the predetermined voltage value, charging is performed with a second predetermined current value lower than the predetermined current value and when the terminal voltage values reaches the predetermined voltage value, charging is immediately conducted with a third predetermined current value, which is equal to the half of the second predetermined current value. When the voltage again reaches the predetermined voltage value, the charging is stopped and is completed. Thereby, even if battery capacity is lower, charging can be made satisfactorily up to a fully charged condition even in the charging condition where battery capacity is not very low. |
