<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate inspection apparatus and plate inspection method capable of executing precise plate inspection by detecting the 'floating up' and 'sinking in' of partial images of characters, line drawings, etc. SOLUTION: Contour images G4 and G5 are extracted from the respective images G1 of a second revise and the images G2 of a third revise and are compared. The differential image G6 thereof is extracted. The character '7' existing in the first revise is erased thus far by forming the character to the same color as a ground surface color and the character is eventually floated up by changing the ground surface color in the third revise. The 'floating up' which is such a proof reading error may be detected in the differential image G6.</p> |
