PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a satisfactory image based on image data after the processing, even if the image data are deficient in the case of processing the image data in the unit of blocks. SOLUTION: When image data consisting of 'M-lines×N-pixels' written in a memory are read in the unit of blocks of a prescribed number of pixels for compression coding processing or the like, when data for, e.g. 2 lines and at a for 4 pixels per line are deficient, data (1, 1), (2,1), to (M, 1) at the left end are used to add data for two pixels per line to the left end side, and data (1, N), (2, N), to (M, N) at the right end are used to add data for two pixels to the right end. Data corresponding to one line portion are added to the upper end by using data (1, 1), (1, 2), to (1, N) at the upper end and data for one line are added to the lower end by using data (M, 1), (M, 2), to (M, N) at the lower end. The added image data are not conspicuous, and deterioration in a compression rate or deterioration in the image quality due to compression is prevented also. |
