摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to precisely position an optical fiber array disposed at an optical module end and an optical connector externally mounted onto the optical fiber array by providing the optical fiber array end faces with guide pin holes to be inserted with guide pins. SOLUTION: The one end of the optical fiber array 5 is coupled to the module optical element 11 consisting of an LD array 3, lens array 4, etc., at one side and the other end is coupled to the externally mounted optical connector 6. The optical fiber array 5 is partly housed in a case 1 and is detained to the externally mounted optical connector 6 by means of a clip 13, for example, a leaf spring clip. The optical connector for the optical module is a parallel transmission module basically comprising an optical module 11, the optical fiber array 5 directly optically coupled to the optical module and the optical connector 6. The optical fiber array 5 has the guide pin holes for positioning the optical connector 6 to be externally mounted onto the parallel transmission module by means of the guide pins and a detaining face for detaining the clip 13 to couple the parallel transmission module and the optical connector 6.
