PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent a foreign matter such as dust, moisture or the like from invading an oil pan and maintain a foreign matter invasion- preventing function for a long term by detachably setting a filter for preventing the invasion of the foreign matter through a ventilation path. SOLUTION: An oil level gage main body 1 holds a rod-like core bar 2 and is pressed to be detachably fixed to an opening part 32 of an oil pan 31. A ventilation path 4 exerting a breather function for the interior and exterior of the oil pan 31 is set inside the main body. Moreover, a filter 5 is detachably set for preventing a foreign matter such as dust, moisture or the like passing the vent line 4 from invading. A level detection display part 7 is set to a lower end part of the core bar 2. The filter 5 is like a disc and set to block the ventilation path 4. In this constitution, in confirming a liquid level in the oil pan 31, e.g. at an oil pressure part of a forklift or the like, when a pressure in the oil pan 31 changes in accordance with a change in liquid level, the air comes in, out via the ventilation path 4, so that the breather function is exerted.
