PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device improved for transmitting data so as to surely detect abnormality according to a communication system based on a tossing protocol. SOLUTION: This data transmission equipment is provided with a transmission counter 13, reception counter 14 and duration timer 15 in addition to a transmission processing part 11 and a reception processing part 12 for transmitting data through a communication network. The transmission counter 13 is a counter for recording how much data are transmitted, and the reception counter 14 is a counter for recording how much data are received. The duration timer 15 is a timer for presenting the time to be waited for error detection at the time of transmission. When it is judged the present equipment has the priority at the time of packet collision, the transmission processing part 11 does not immediately try packet retransmission but performs the retransmission after the duration timer 15 is turned off. While utilizing this duration, the abnormality (such as the multi-body collision of packets, for example), on the network can be surely detected.
