PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric element having long service life and high holding power by providing a holding end part with a pair of opposite holding beams and a contact beam positioned at the middle of both the holding beams, receiving a mating pin in the holding beams and electrically engaging the contact beam with a pin partially plated by a conductive substance. SOLUTION: A female three-beam terminal 100 is an elongate and substantially flat member having a holding region 102 at its one end an insulation eliminating contact part 104 at its other end, and a connector body 106 between them. The insulation eliminating contact part 104 and the connector body 106 are substantially flush with each other and both of them are parallel with a plane on which the holding region 102 is formed. The holding region 102 forms a three-beam structure, holding beams 111 provide high holding power for engaging detachably with a pin 200, and a contact beam 115 provides standard vertical strength and a contact interface region for establishing and keeping electrical contact between the pin 200 and the female three-beam terminal 100. The pin 200 is a male pin contact having a square cross-section.
