PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of fog in an image area, the chipping of an image at the rear edge part of a solid black image area and filming on a photoreceptor by incorporating fine silica powder having a specified content of a component having a polydimethylsiloxane skeleton extracted by an org. solvent. SOLUTION: Fine silica powder having <=2.5 wt.% content of a component having a polydimethylsiloxane skeleton extracted by an org. solvent is used and a toner having <=0.09 wt.% content of the component in the toner with silica treated or coated with a silicone oil is used. In order to reduce the residual amt. of the component to the set value, reactivity is enhanced e.g. by using a dimethylsilicone oil having high reactivity provided with silanol groups at both terminals.
