<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce such inconvenience that the recovery of the image reproducing device to its normal operation mode needs to be waited here by detecting the image reproducing device being in energy-saving mode and displaying information on that on the display screen of a work station. SOLUTION: A window 10 is displayed on the display screen of the work station once a user selects a 'device list' option in desk-top software. In this window 10, symbols representing the states of devices 11 to 16 are displayed by the devices 11 to 16. Simple explanations of the devices 11 to 16, i.e., the kinds and arrangement places of the devices 11 to 16 are provided by the symbols. The user can make a choice among the devices 11 to 16 to which a print job should be sent by referring to the symbols. Further, it can be decided whether or not the device that the user selects is ready to operate.</p> |
