摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength conversion method high in conversion efficiency by including a step to output converted light signals, from an optical waveguide structure, which are produced by four-wave mixing based on light signals and one pumping light beam and which has different wavelength from the wavelength of the light signals. SOLUTION: Light signals amplified in an erbium dope fiber(EDF) 12, and first and second pumping light beams are supplied through a wavelength dividing multiple(WDM) coupler 26 and optical isolator 30 in this order to an optical band pass filter 32. The converted light signals produced in FWM of EDF 12 are also supplied through the WDM coupler 26 and optical isolator 30 to the optical band pass filter 32. The optical band pass filter 32 has a band pass region including the wavelength of converted light signals but not including the light signals and wavelengths of the first and second pumping light beams. The converted light signals are extracted by the optical band pass filter 32 and outputted from the device.</p>
