DUST PROOF COVER FOR SWITCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust proof cover for a switch for preventing a cover from floating depending on the operating configuration of the switch in relation to a protecting cover structure for the switch which requires dust and water proofing performance. SOLUTION: A dust proof cover mounted on a switch mainbody 1 having a flange portion 2 for covering a switch comprises a packing 6 formed with a frame and a cover 10 formed of soft elastic material. A press-in groove 7 is provided around the upper face of the packing 6 and a plurality of through- holes 8 having wide stepped portions 9 are made in part of the press-in groove 7. A rib 11 ranging over the press-in groove 7 in opposition thereto is provided on the cover 10 and an under-cut portion 12 is formed on the rib 11 corresponding to the through-hole 8 to press the rib 11 of the cover 10 into the press-in groove 7 in the packing 6 and engage the stepped portions 9 of the through-holes 8 with the under-cut portion 12 in protruded and recessed relationship.
