PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key switch device capable of increasing a key stroke corresponding to a lower profile of keyboard and ensuring key input in a well key-operative manner. SOLUTION: A pair of link members 7, 8 in a U-shape in a top view are engaged with each other at gears (12a, 12b, 22a, 22b) so as to be combined in a square shape in a top view and a rubber spring (32) is arranged in the pair of link members 7, 8. When the keytop 1 is depressed the keytop 1 is guided downward by the pair of the members 7, 8 and subjected to switching operation by the rubber spring (32). When the depressing of the keytop 1 is cancelled, the keytop 1 is pushed upward, while being supported by the link members 7, 8, with the biasing force of the rubber spring (32) and the coil spring 33 and reset to an original position.
