PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the assemblage made to the state having the abnormal route of a magnetic tape such as the magnetic tape is passed between fixing bosses and a positioning boss in a case, when a single reel wound with the magnetic tape is assembled into the cartridge case. SOLUTION: The magnetic tape cartridge is constituted in such a manner that the reel 4 wound with the magnetic tape 5 is housed in the cartridge case 1 consisitng of a lower case 3 and an upper case 2 and fixing bosses 11, 12 for joining these cases are projectingly provided on the inner surfaces of the upper/lower cases 2, 3 around an opening part 7 of the case 1, and the positioning boss 13 for forming a positioning hole 3d on the bottom surface is projectingly provided on the inner surface of the lower case 3, then the arrangement is made so that auxiliary ribs 15, 16 covering the gap between the fixing bosses 11, 12 and the positioning boss 13 are successively provided to the fixing bosses 11, 12 of the upper/lower cases 2, 3.
