PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for a space disposed heretofore in order to arrange the circular arcuate lock piece of a trigger lever 84 having a cartridge holder, trigger lever and slide plate between a chassis and the slide plate by arranging the lock piece to a parallel form in the upper part of the slide plate. SOLUTION: The lock piece 84c of the trigger lever 84 of a large-capacity floppy disk drive is arranged in the parallel form in the upper part of the first slide plate 57. Even if the thickness of the substrate housing space in the lower part of the chassis 41 is increased, the space 431 between the chassis 41 and the first slide plate 57 is removed or drastically reduced by constituting the disk drive device in the manner described above, by which the increase in the thickness over the entire part of the drive is prevented and the thickness of one inch height may be attained. The lock piece 84c of the trigger lever 84 is arranged in the upper part of the first slide plate 57, by which the easy assembly and disassembly of the trigger lever 84 are made possible and the cost reduction by the improved productivity may be embodied.
