PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head capable of grounding a head core without requiring additional parts. SOLUTION: This is a magnetic head provided with a magnetic head assembly body 30 having a head core 32 with a gap on a sliding plane with a magnetic medium, a gimbals 20 supporting this magnetic head assembly with the central part having elasticity, a shield ring 60 for holding the peripheral part of this gimbals and also magnetically shielding the periphery of the magnetic head assembly body, a carriage 10 for supporting this shield ring, and a flexible wiring board having a wiring pattern and an earth pattern to be electrically connected with the magnetic head assembly. In this case, the head core is electrically connected with the gimbals via a 1st conductive material 71, and the gimbals is electrically connected with the shield ring via a 2nd conductive material, and further, the shield ring is electrically connected with the earth pattern on the wiring board via a 3rd conductive material.
