PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to assure the clamping state of optical fibers even if deformation arises in elements of a two-split structure by a temp. change, moisture absorption, etc., of an optical fiber connector of a structure to maintain a connecting state by clamping and holding the optical fibers butt connected between these elements. SOLUTION: This structure holds and clamps the bare fibers 7a at the front ends of the optical fibers 7 between a retaining part 17b and a base by the retaining part 17b formed at a central cap 17 at the canter of the cap body constituting the elements 1A. In such a case, even if the deformation arises in the etching elements 1A, the state that the clamping force is concentrated near the retaining part 17b may be maintained and the clamping state and connecting state of the bare fibers 7a may be maintained.
