PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a GPS receiver having a higher position measuring precision. SOLUTION: A global positioning system(GPS) receiver 1 receives an electric wave signal from a GPS satellite, and performs position measuring computation using a Kalman filter composed of a measured position value computing section 13, a measured position value estimating section 14, and a parameter storing section 15. A moving property detecting section 17 detects the acceleration of a moving substance on which the GPS receiver 1 is mounted. A parameter renewing section 16 renews the parameters of the Kalman filter one by one, on the basis of the dispersion value of the acceleration of the moving substance found by the moving property detecting section 17.
