PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device capable of freely connecting various option units without increasing the cost of the main body of device. SOLUTION: Based on a printing instruction, a video controller 27 generates a video signal from image data, and corresponding to the generated video signal, an engine controller 26 controls a laser scanner part 6 so that an image can be recorded on recording paper S by an image recording part 7. Corresponding to a control instruction sent from the video controller 27, a total controller 101 of a total option unit 32 totally controls various option units such as a paper deck option unit 40 or sorter option unit 50.
