PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gliding target having high cost effectiveness spread in the air by towing via an aircraft. SOLUTION: This gliding target 10 comprises a fuselage 12 having a front end 14, and a rear end 16. Movable steering wings 30 and releasable towing cable adapter 32 are mounted at the fuselage 12. A towing cable adapter releasing mechanism is arranged in the fuselage 12 to mechanically couple the adapter 32 to the wings 30, and fixes the wings 30 to set positions until the adapter 32 is separated from the fuselage 12. The target 10 further has a gliding target parachute and a parachute launcher used to spread the parachute from the fuselage in the fuselage. The adapter 32 is cooperatively engaged with the mechanism so that the parachute is not spread from the fuselage in the case of mounting at the fuselage.
