PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear drive device having compact longitudinal dimensions and ensuring reliable fixing of sealing tape to a right place, which renders possible simple terminal closure of the interior space. SOLUTION: A linear drive device comprises a housing 3 having a cylinder barrel 4 with a longitudinal slot 5. The interior space of such the cylinder barrel 4 is closed by a closure plug 14 axially inserted into the interior space. At a region facing the longitudinal slot 5, the closure plug 14 is provided with a flat portion 43 which engages with and internal 44 of a sealing tape 35 associated with the longitudinal slot 5 in order to prevent the relative rotation. The closure plug 14 is anchored by a securing pin 47 on the cylinder barrel 4.
