PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply the hub device for electronic equipment to both of the case of connecting a peripheral device through a cable and the case of connecting it through optical signals and to improve operability as electronic equipment with respect to the hub device for the electronic equipment connected to an electronic equipment main body for connecting the plural peripheral devices. SOLUTION: This hub device for the electronic equipment for relaying the electronic equipment main body and the plural peripheral devices is provided with a hub device main body 11' for connecting the cable connected to the peripheral device of a cable connection type and a light receiving element 211 mounted to the upper part of the hub device main body for receiving the optical signals emitted from the peripheral device of an optical signal emission type. Also, when the hub device for the electronic equipment is constituted so as to turn or move the infrared ray light receiving surface of an infrared light receiving element 211 in the hub device for optical signal connection to the hub device main body 11', infrared rays from the peripheral device are received by turning the infrared ray light receiving surface to the direction of the peripheral device.
