PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element with excellent reliability and strength, with less, defect and unevenness and with good quality. SOLUTION: A liquid crystalline composition comprising a liquid crystalline polymer exhibiting optically positive uniaxiality (a) and a polycyclic compound with <=1,000 molecular weight consisting of a plurality of alicyclic and/or aromatic rings combined with each other via a linking chain with 0-4 principal chain atoms bonded with carbon atoms of rings different with each other and hydrocarbon groups with 1-20 carbon atoms bonded with both the terminal rings via a linking chain with 0-4 principal chain atoms respectively (b) is film formed. An optical element film is made with fixing an oriented state formed by the liquid crystalline composition in a liquid crystal state. |
