PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the print control method which makes overlapping characters easy to see when an image is printed together by correcting the lightness of the image to selected lightness and putting print data together with the lightness-corrected image. SOLUTION: It is judged (S101) whether or not an overlay image in the list box of a dialog is selected. The name of the selected overlay image is stored (S102). It is judged (S103) whether or not a scroll bar for varying lightness is varied. The selected lightness is stored (S104). It is judged whether or not OK button of the dialog is depressed. The overlay image having the selected name is read in a RAM (S106). The read-in image is varied to the stored lightness and the lightness-varied image is registered as an overlay image in a printer (S107). Thus, the overlay image is specified before printing and the printing is carried out so that the overlaying print data become clearness.
