PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aberration-free beam compensating optical system constituted so that it need not be adjusted again even when the wavelength of a beam is changed, the cross section shape of output luminous flux can be adjusted to be the desired shape and the parallel luminous flux without distortion is obtained. SOLUTION: A beam source 6 is arranged at the first focal point 3 of a rotary elliptical mirror 1 and a rotary parabolic mirror 2 is oppositely arranged so that the focal point thereof is aligned with a second focal point 4. Then, the beam emitted from the beam source 6, reflected on the mirror 1 and passed through the second focal point 4 is reflected on the mirror 2. The mirrors 1 and 2 are respectively provided with rotary mechanisms 11 and 12 and a translation mechanism 13 so that the shape of the output beam can be adjusted.
