A signal representative of orbital trajectories of one or more GPS satellites (14) is broadcast within view of the GPS receiver (19). A time synchronization signal is broadcast for calculating a rough estimate of the position of the GPS receiver (19). The signal representative of orbital trajectories, the time synchronization signal, and the rough estimate of the position of the GPS receiver (19) are inserted into the GPS receiver (19).
