The method involves using a data base of document funds which contain, country by country, institution by institution by country, for each type of front of document fund and, eventually back of document edit by institution. An electronic image is produced for the documents front page value and eventually, that of the associated reverse page value. There is creation and management of the cheque funds, editing by an electronic reader which is accessible via public or private telephone networks. There is de-consultation stage for cheque funds from the country codes, bank codes and from the code identifying the value read from the cheque.
