PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the stored data volume in an automatic music composing device for generating music based on stored music composing data. SOLUTION: Pattern data for expressing passage patterns A-A',-B-C-D and melody generating data for passages A, B, C are stored as music composing data in a data base. The melody generating data for the passage A' are generated with the melody generating data for the passage A changed partially by data changing processing 50. The melody generating data for the passage D are read out from a data bank 52 by data reading-out processing 56 based on assignment of a style or the like, to be generated. A music is generated in music generating processing 58 using the melody generating data for the passages A, A', B, C, D as the music generating data. The melody generating data are generated in the generating processing such as the processings 50, 56 in response to user's indication, or in random. |
