PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform password input strong against password breakage and suited to an operation environment made into a GUI while easily performing storage/input. SOLUTION: A password input control mechanism 33 displays a password input screen 10 provided with a password input area 11 divided into plural small areas on the display screen of a display device 1 at the time of a password input request. When a user indicates an optional small area position on the password input area 11 by using a pen or the like, the coordinates of the indicated position are detected by a position detector 2 and converted into a corresponding small area number by a position detection interface 31 further. The password input control mechanism 33 holds the small area number successively in an area number string holding part 332. Then, when an end button 15 is selected and specified, the password input control mechanism 33 decides an input password based on the string of the small area numbers held in the area number string holding part 332.
