<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform a front monitoring operation by efficiently using a transmitter-receiver. SOLUTION: Frequency-modulated waves are transmitted from a transmitting antenna 24. In a receiving antenna 26, reflected waves from a vehicle in the front are received. A relative distance and a relative speed to the vehicle in the front are detected in a radar-signal processing unit 34. In addition, an apparatus, on a road, which receives transmitted waves modulates received waves on the basis of information so as to be sent back. Consequently, a signal which is received by the receiving antenna 26 contains a modulation signal. When the modulation signal is fetched by a BPF 36 so as to be demodulated by a frequency-modulation-data demodulator 38, information is recognized by a data recognition unit, thereby making it possible to obtain information from two information sources from one received signal.</p> |
