PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the driving energy for a stepping motor as a whole. SOLUTION: A driving pulse with alternate first and second polarities is applied to a coil 3 of a motor 2 to supply a specified quantity of electric energy to the coil 3 while each driving pulse continues. After each driving pulse, rotation or non-rotation of a rotor of the motor responding to each driving pulse is detected. When the rotor is in non-rotation state, the duration of a next pulse is adjusted longer. In this case, a quantity of electric energy supplied to the coil 3 is adjusted separately for a driving pulse of the first polarity and for a driving pulse of the second polarity. |
