PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the result of natural modification, even when plural areas after the modification are overlapped with each other in the image processing unit that applies image processing to plural partial areas of image data. SOLUTION: An image processing means 2 has a designation means 4 with which the user designates an image processing area and image modification information, a modification processing means 5 that applies modification processing to inputted image data in a designated area, a detection means 6 that detects an overlapped area resulting from the modification, and an output selection means 7 that selects the output of the overlapped area detected by the detection means.
