PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of ringing, without the need for a high-degree configuration of an interpolation arithmetic processing by applying interpolation arithmetic processing for pluralities of number of times stepwise, through the use of a specific interpolation function so as to acquire secondary image data denoting an interpolated image with desired sharpness. SOLUTION: A new interpolation coefficients Aij is used, which are is obtained by combining interpolation coefficients Aij for an interpolation function (h) expressed as h=ΣAij.Yij, interpolation coefficients Cij for an interpolation function (f) expressed as f=ΣCij.Yij, and an interpolation coefficient Bij for an interpolation function (g) expressed as g=ΣBij.Yij by a linear combination of the relation Aij=αCij+(1-α)Bij, where i, j are respectively 1, 2, etc., andαrepresents sharpness. When the desired sharpness is lower than the sharpness of an original image by a prescribed degree or over by a muli-stage processing means 50 of an interpolation arithmetic unit 100, the interpolation arithmetic processing by using the interpolation function (H) in response to the sharpness lower than the sharpness of the original image and higher than the desired sharpness is applied to primary image data twice or over stepwise to acquire secondary image data which respect an interpolation image with the desired sharpness. |
