PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic rod for light transmission which is adequate for illumination and has excellent transparency, weatherability and bendability. SOLUTION: The core of the plastic light transmission body consisting of the core and a clad having a refractive index lower than the refractive index of the core is manufactured from a liquid mixture which consists of a (meth) acryl monomer and a multifunctional monomer as indispensable components and has a polymn. shrinkage rate of <=10%. In such a case, the core is a large- diameter rod of 5 to 50 mm in the bore thereof and the polymn. velocity V (cm/min) at which the rod is continuously produced is in a range of 1/x<=V<=20/x with respect to the gelatinization rate x (min) of the rod. Alicyclic (meth)acrylate is used as the (meth)acryl monomer and multifunctional (meth) acrylate having a weight average mol.wt. of >=250 is used as the multifunctional monomer.
