PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operational efficiency of a storage device by efficiently performing memory management, when plural memory-shared resources are used by plural applications at the same time. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an image memory, which has two or more pairs of storage devices 700a and 700b that include primary storage parts 705a and 705b for storing one or more image signals inputted from an image input means and secondary storage parts 706a and 706b for retaining image signals inputted to these primary storage parts 705a and 705b, a memory controller, a CPU and a main controller which output a clear image on a recording surface by way of an image forming means on the basis of image signals inputted from the image input means or the image signal retained in the image memory. The memory controller splits the secondary storage parts 706a and 706b into plural storage areas, preset storage areas are allocated for every application, and at the occurrence of an image input request, the storage area allocated to the application which requests image input is used for storing.
