PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable installation method which can improve the workability for maintenance and reconstruction and reliability by a method, wherein a cable number is printed on a cable with a certain interval, when cable is installed. SOLUTION: A process in which a cable 1 is paid off from a drum 2 includes a device 10 which measures a cable length and a device 7, which prints a cable number. Predetermined cable numbers corresponding to respective cables are stored in a computer 9. The corresponding cable number is printed repeatedly on the cable drawn from the drum with a predetermined interval by a laser method. A means 15, with which coloring agent which can be clearly distinguished from the black color of the cable, is applied is provided. With this constitution, one cable can be identified by observing any parts of the installed cables. In the practice of the cable maintenance work of an old plant, a cable investigation cost, man-hours, a work for sticking cable number cards to cables, a work for tying cable number tags with strings, etc., can be omitted. Furthermore, since the cable number can be seen if a fixed length of the cable during a work, the workability can be improved. |
