PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of a ripple and a spuriousness and to attain miniaturization. SOLUTION: A surface acoustic wave element 2 is disposed on the front surface of a piezoelectric substrate 1 and two states by an input interdigital transducer 3 and an output interdigital transducer 4 are also provided. A groove shaped recessed part 5 is disposed on the front surface being nonparallel with surface acoustic wave along the longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric substrate 1. The recessed part 5 is arranged at a place except a part which is electrically connected to a stage interval part between the transducers 3 and 4 so that interference by the leakage component of surface acoustic wave or a horizontal mode or the like is not received and, then, an excellent out of band attenuating quantity is secured.
