PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive device which is capable of preventing the inside of the device from being viewed even at the time of mounting a recording medium and reducing the size of the device and an electronic apparatus using the same. SOLUTION: This disk drive device executes recording and/or reproducing of information to and from the recording medium and has an insertion port 6 of an approximately rectangular shape which is inserted with the recording medium, a mounting part which is mounted with the recording medium inserted from this insertion port 6, a first cap member 7 which is disposed turnably at one end in the short side direction of the insertion port 6 and is energized in the closing direction of the insertion port 6 and a second cap member 8 which is disposed turnably at the other end in the short side direction of the insertion port 6 and is energized in the closing direction of the insertion port 6. The insertion port 6 is opened by turning of the first and second cap members 7, 8 at the time of inserting of the recording medium from the insertion port 6. When the recording medium is mounted in the device 9, the first and second cap members 7, 8 are turned in the closing direction of the insertion port 6 by energizing force, by which the insertion port 6 is shielded.
