摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminescent material having luminescent colors from yellow to red, high luminescent brightness and long luminescent life by using a compound having a Terylene (R) ring. SOLUTION: A luminescent material for an organic electroluminescence element is represented by formula I. In the formula I, Te is a Terylene residue, Ar1 and Ar2 are an alkyl group, a monocyclic group or a polycyclic group (Ar1 and Ar2 may be optionally connected to each another). At least one of Ar1 and Ar2 in the formula I is preferably a group represented by formula II. In the formula II, R1-5 is H, a halogen atom, a cyano group, a nitro group, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an alkylthio group, an arylthio group, a monocyclic group, a condensation polycyclic group, -NR6R7 (R6 and R7 are an alkyl group, a monocyclic group, a polycyclic group). For example, a compound represented by formula III can be cited. The compound having a Terylene ring has high glass transition point and high melting point, and is superior in heat resistance. Furthermore it has high maximum luminescent brightness, so that it is advantageous when an element is manufactured.
