The casing (10) is closed by a (smooth or optically deviating) front glass (30). The light source, e.g. an incandescent or gas discharge bulb (20,21) is placed in a socket (26) retained by clip or bayonet fitting in a rear aperture (24), and passes through an opening (28) in the reflector (22,23). The latter, a plastic injection moulding, opt. includes a lateral extension forming the reflector of a smaller, e.g. parking or indicator, lamp, also accommodated in the casing. A screen (32) of transparent material, on a dependent support (35) is placed immediately in front of the light source, both screen and support being integrally moulded with the reflector (23). The front of the screen is optically modified, forming e.g. Fresnel lenses (33), so as to appear reflective to an observer in front of the vehicle, thus concealing the (e.g. tinted or coated) envelope (21) of the light source, while freely transmitting its emissions when lit. The optical system is that of a main beam or dipped head-lamp, or a fog-lamp, and the screen may incorporate any cut-off mask these roles may require.
