A concealed hinge, especially for use on a cigarette lighter cap, comprises a block 8 attached to one hinging member having arcuate grooves 9 on each of its outer surfaces, the grooves being centred on the pivoting point 3 of the hinge which is at or outside the edge at which the hinged members meet. Attached to the other: member are two sets each of at least two rollers 6 which run in the grooves 9. The hinge is spring-loaded by means of a spring 26 operating on a linkage system 20-25 which urges the "lid" member into both the fully open and fully closed positions. Alternative spring loading arrangements are disclosed with reference to Figs. 10-14 (not shown). |
