PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with the separating work of a conductor and a coating body by the expensive gravity selection work which needs the experience and to provide an electric wire having the conductor and the coating body separatable from one another, by forming the coating body with at least two kinds of insulating materials in the longitudinal direction. SOLUTION: A conductor 1 of an electric wire mainly composed of a copper wire is coated with a coating body 2 composed of two kinds of insulating materials. A first insulating material 3 is composed of a vinyl chloride resin, polyethylene or the like, and a second insulating material 4 is composed of an ethylene/vinyl acetate polymer having a melting point lower than that of the first insulating material 3, or the like. These resins are respectively kneaded by two extruders, and applied onto the conductor 1 through a die having the paths joined at an outlet side. To disassemble the electric wire, the conductor 1 is heated by applying high voltage, so that the second insulating material 4 meltable at a low temperature is melted, whereby the first insulating body 3 is separated from the conductor while using the melted second insulating material as a cut line, and the conductor 1 and the coating body 2 can be easily separated from one another. The coefficients of thermal expansion and the thermal deterioration temperatures of the first and second insulating materials 3, 4 are preferably different from one another. |
