METHOD AND DEVICE FOR EXTENDING INTERFACE FUNCTION COMMON WITH DIGITAL VIDEO BROADCASTING BY DIRECT ACCESS TO CONDITIONAL ACCESS MODULE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable direct access to a conditional access module by selecting a private application program interface(API) protocol or a standard API protocol by responding to a second message. SOLUTION: Four communication layers of a driver 100 communicate with man-machine interface(MMI) 150 via a standard API and communicate with an exclusive user interface 140 via a private API. A first message including a given parameter exclusive for the API protocol is transmitted from the conditional access module to a user interface and the user interface is inspected whether it is compatible to the parameter or not. Response is made from the user interface to the conditional access module by the second message including a result of compatibility between parameters of the conditional access module and the user interface. The private API protocol or the standard API protocol is selected.
