PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable tentative operation, when a device cannot be used due to battery consumption by charging a capacitor connected in parallel to the charge remaining in the battery with the voltage higher than the voltage not causing battery deterioration and then switching the connection of capacitor to the series connection. SOLUTION: When a voltage of battery E is lowered up to the predetermined value, a switch control circuit B2 turns a switch SW1 to off and turns a switch SW2 to on to electrically isolate a portable telephone circuit B4 from the battery E. Under the condition that capacitors C1, C2 are connected in parallel to the battery E, the capacitors C1, C2 are charged, the connecting positions of switches SW3, SW4 are set to a position b, and the capacitors C1 and C2 are connected in series to add the voltages of both capacitors. Thereby, when operation is disabled due to power consumption, the capacitor is charged in a short time using the charges remaining in the built-in battery to obtain the required voltage. |
