PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector which allows certain surface mounting even if a circuit board is deformed with no risk of deterioration with time. SOLUTION: An electric connector 10 includes a contact housing 20 and signal contacts 40, wherein the housing 20 is provided with at least two retaining grooves to work together, and the contacts 40 are installed in the housing 20. Each signal contact 40 has a finger, base, and leg, and the base is fitted with a first and a second holding tab, which are fitted tightly in the retaining grooves. The leg is positioned in the base part between the first and second tabs.
