PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source element giving high brightness and excellent in uniformity of brightness on the plane. SOLUTION: The surface light source element is provided with a light transmission body 3 having light sources 2 at both end faces 1, and an emitting light control plate 4 directing light from a light-emitting surface to the front direction. The emitting light control plate 4 is arranged on the light transmission body 3, and the light made incident on the incident plane 5 is emitted from the light-emitting plane 6. A lot of projecting parts 7 are formed on the incident plane 5 of the emitting light control plate 4, and the tips of these projecting parts 7 are in close contact with the light-emitting plane of the light transmission body 3 via a sticky layer 8 or an adhesive layer. The heights of the projecting parts are lower and the sticky layer 8 is thicker in the central part of the light transmission body, while those of the projecting parts are higher and the sticky layer 8 is thinner at the end parts thereof, so that a portion of the close contact part is large on the sides near the end faces 1, and it is small on the place far from the end faces. |
