PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric transfer element made of photosensitive protein in which the response from an electrochemical cell indicates the anode side. SOLUTION: A thin film of mutated bacteriorhodopsin, in particular, a protein as mutation into neutral amino acids from the 194th or 204th gultamic acid reckoned from the amino termination of bacteriorhodopsin and also the 82th arginine, is fixed to the interface between a conductive electrode substrate and an ion conductive electrolyte, and thus an intended photoelectric transfer element is fabricated. |
